Hello friends!
I hope that you are all happy and healthy and doing well. Yes, Joe is still alive and around! I had a health scare recently, but I'm still in decent shape for 48 and still skateboarding—as this video below will attest. My brother and I love cruising down the downtown parking garages on quiet Sundays.
Happy Halloween! Have you put out your jack-o-lanterns? If you need something to do on Halloween night, listen to this kick ass narrated fiction written by yours truly, "The Testing of Affa Eash," and produced by the incredibly talented Matthew Mohn. Oh—and the incredible acting of his daughters and wife. Please, please, follow the link below to the YouTube page and leave a comment if you like the story and narrated fiction. This is a labor of love, and the comments keep us going! I'm pumped that some very cool horror writers have been listening and have left comments!
This has been a great year for writing! FRIGHT CLUB, the brainchild of the ever gracious and very awesome writer Moaner T. Lawrence, has helped and inspired me to produce buckets of short stories that need to be revised and submitted. I highly recommend participating in the Fright Club workshops if you love to write horror as much as I do! To all my old friends from the UNLV MFA program and the OSU Creative Writing program—SIGN UP FOR FRIGHT CLUB and get your short horror on!
What's in store for me? I have several short stories (one science fiction and two horror) coming out in the next year, and I'm working on a very cool sci-fi/horror novel. Also, I'm going to begin writing book reviews and posting them here. I'll try for one a week, which means I'll probably end up writing one every two weeks.
IF you're a writer friend of mine, and you'd like me to review and rate your book, just contact me! I love to support my friends and their speculative fiction. Along with the review, I'll rate the books I read with a ten-star system that covers the five basic areas of characters, setting, POV, theme, and plot.
Keep in touch, drop me a line, holla at me!
